Sitting or lying comfortably, we set a positive and reassuring intention before consciously exploring the body (body scan), the breath, emotions, and the mind (guided visualizations). Often reduced to mere relaxation, this practice is a yogic tool for transformation that connects us with our unconscious mind and allows us to imprint a personal resolution (sankalpa) upon it.
⚠️ Yoga Nidra is not suitable for everyone, however.
If you suffer from a mental health condition, you may find it difficult to cope with the inward focus and letting go. These elements may exacerbate your distress. On the other hand, it is helpful and beneficial for insomnia, physical pain, and chronic stress.
