Who we are
Groupe santé Genève is a Geneva-based not-for-profit association, recognized as being of public utility, which fights for access to healthcare for vulnerable people.
Among other things, we carry out various health promotion and prevention initiatives for people in precarious and vulnerable situations. We support them in their health-related efforts to improve their quality of life, and defend their interests and rights.
Our history
Founded in 1987, Groupe santé Genève – formerly known as Groupe sida Genève – is a private, non-profit association dedicated to promoting health and combating discrimination and inequalities in health.
Supported mainly by Geneva’s public authorities, it brings together various professionals from the medical, social and legal fields, with a common goal: access to health for all.
It works with a large network of partners in Geneva, the French-speaking part of the country and Switzerland in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In 2021, the association changed its name to Groupe santé Genève. Its actions, previously focused on HIV and AIDS, are broadened to encompass global health issues and the fight against health inequalities, as well as the promotion and prevention of these issues.
